The WGW Community Youth Cup Golf Tournament is indeed the premier fundraising golf
tournament in Garrett County dedicated to raising money for the youth of the region.

Here's what makes us stand out:
• Primary Beneficiary: The tournament's primary mission is to support the youth of
Garrett County.
• Key Beneficiaries: The funds raised directly benefit three established local youth
charities:
◦ Landon's Library: Promotes early childhood literacy by providing monthly
books to children from birth until kindergarten. They have distributed over
500,000 books and also organize Kindermusik and playdates.
◦ Samantha Funding the Arts: Supports arts programs within schools and the
community by funding field trips, special events, art and music supplies, theater
resources, band equipment and more.
◦ The Andrew S. Woods Scholarship Fund: Provides athletic scholarships to
graduating seniors at Southern Garrett High School and Northern Garrett High
School.

• Significant Impact: To date, the WGW Youth Charities has raised over $1.7 million,
demonstrating the tournament's substantial contribution to the community.
• Broader Reach: While the primary focus remains on Landon's Library, Samantha
Funding the Arts, and The Andrew Woods Memorial Scholarship Fund, the funds have
also benefited numerous other youth-focused organizations in Garrett County, including I
Can Swim, Garrett Mentors, world champion Robotics Teams, local sports organizations,
and the Learning Beyond the Classroom Bus.
• Annual Event: The tournament is an annual event that has become a significant tradition
in Garrett County. The 2025 tournament will be the 14th year.
• Community Support: The tournament enjoys strong support from the community,
including lead sponsorship from Clear Mountain Bank since its inception.
• Engaging Format: The event includes the Golf Tournament at the Premier Thousand
Acres Golf Club, a Kick Off Dinner with Live Music, Silent Auction and Raffles making
it a fun and engaging way to support a worthy cause.
